We share our local tips for a Kiwi roadtrip
Embark on a campervan relocation from Christchurch to Auckland! Discover stunning landscapes and hidden gems on this unforgettable New Zealand road trip.
Day 1: Christchurch to Picton
Start in Christchurch making your way up to Kaikoura. Take a break to stretch your legs walking one of the Kaikoura Peninsula walkways or a take a tour to see the abundant wildlife.
Make your way to Blenheim, one of the sunniest towns in New Zealand and spend the afternoon tasting the best wine. Unwind near the waterside at Robin Hood Bay, where you could camp for the night.
Day 2: Picton to Wellington
Start the day by doing the ferry crossing from Picton to Wellington. On the majority of New Zealand campervan relocations the cost of ferries are reimbursed! Once you get to capital there is so much to do. You could ride the iconic cable car, visit Te Papa Museum or head to the sandy beaches for a picnic. Head to Whakaipo Campsite near the lake to set up for the night!
Day 3: Wellington to Taupo
Leaving the city behind, head on the open road up to Taupo! Along the way stop at the New Zealand Rugby Museum in Palmerston North.
Take a one day trek through Mount Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The 12 mile journey boasts volcanic peaks and scenery like nothing you’ve seen before!
Day 4: Taupo to Rotorua
NAU MAI, HAERE MAI
Come and explore Mitai Moari Village, where the stories of the past shape your journey! Spend the day learning about the moari culture, food , songs and history.
While in Rotorua be sure to take a dip in the iconic geothermal pools at Polynesian Spa.
Day 5: Rotorua to Auckland
